![]() US Players are allowed to play here! Robber Hits Coconut Creek Seminole Casino Poker Room In FloridaThe Coconut Creek Seminole Casino's poker room in South Florida is usually a peaceful place. On Friday, however, the room was jolted when a robber walked in and demanded money from an employee, all the while waving around a gun. The robber was wearing a baseball cap and is thought to be in his twenties. Authorities claim he is at least 5'10, and somewhere around 170 pounds. Without anything shielding his face other than the baseball cap, police believe that his face might show up on surveillance cameras. Those who watched the incident said that the robber made off with a couple thousand dollars. He fled the scene of the robbery in an older model Cadillac, but still the casino is hopeful that something will turn up to identify the young adult. "We're reviewing surveillance videos from multiple cameras, hoping there's a clear image of him in one of them," said Gary Bitner, a Spokesman for the Seminole Casino, as reported by the Sun-Sentinel. The Coconut Creek Seminole Casino is one of the locations that the Seminole tribe has plans for major gambling expansion in the future. It is one of the tribe's casinos that does not currently offer blackjack. The Seminoles have negotiated two gambling compacts with Governor Charlie Crist, but lawmakers in the state have voted down both compacts. Now, legislators may be focusing on other gambling expansion for the state, leaving the disagreement between the Seminoles in the state involving blackjack to be settled on a federal level.
